Dear Perales Roadrunners,
It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I welcome you back for the 2018-2019 school year. I hope your summer has been filled with laughter, adventure, and a good book or two! My name is Teresa Silva and I am the very proud principal of Perales Elementary. Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself, if I have not yet had the opportunity, and share some important information with you to prepare for the 1st day of school on Monday, August 20, 2018. It is an honor and privilege to be working again this year with dedicated families and staff. This will be the start of my 21st year in Edgewood and 3rd year as Principal at Perales. I look forward to continuing our relationships with our amazing Roadrunner scholars!Our staff is working hard to be ready for our scholars on day one by attending professional development, reviewing student information, and preparing a warm and welcoming classroom that celebrates a love of reading! Thank you to our outstanding custodial staff who have worked tirelessly to prepare our building for you!I would like to introduce two staff members who will be taking on new roles at Perales. Ms. Lindsey Vela will be serving as Assistant Principal and Ms. Audrey Gonzales is our new school secretary. Both Ms. Vela and Ms. Gonzales are outstanding ladies who are eager and ready to serve our school!
Meet the Teacher Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4:00-6:00.This is a great time to meet the teacher and drop off school supplies. The school supply list is available on the district website. A copy is available at the front office.
We would like to give a special welcome to the graduating class of 2031! Our kindergarten scholars will begin a special journey as we teach them to set goals for their future and dream big!
Our theme for this year is "Dream Big". Children who dream of goals become young adults with visions of making their community a better place.

Estimados padres y alumnos,
Les damos una entusiasta bienvenida a todos a un nuevo curso escolar. Espero que hayan pasado un buen verano, que se hayan divertido y leído algún buen libro. Mi nombre es Teresa Silva y me enorgullece ser la directora de la Escuela Primaria Perales. Ya estamos preparándolo todo para el primer día de clase el 20 de agosto. Es un honor estar un año más en esta escuela y un privilegio trabajar de nuevo con este magnífico equipo de profesionales. Este es mi 21er año en el distrito de Edgewood y el tercero como directora de la Escuela Perales. Nuestro personal se está preparando para el curso y asistiendo a varios talleres de formación. Conste también nuestro agradecimiento al personal de limpieza y mantenimiento por el gran trabajo que están haciendo en el edificio. Este año se han incorporado dos miembros a nuestro equipo: Lindsey Vela, como subdirectora, y Audrey Gonzales, que estará a cargo de la secretaría. Las dos son grandes profesionales a su servicio.
La presentación de los maestros será el 16 de agosto de 4:00 a 6:00 de la tarde. Todos los padres están invitados a venir a conocer a los maestros ese día. Aproveche para dejar los materiales de clase de su hijo. Encontrará la lista del material escolar en la página de Internet del distrito. Puede también pedir una copia en la secretaría.
Les damos también la bienvenida a los niños de kínder que se graduarán de secundaria en 2031 y les deseamos toda la suerte en este largo viaje que ahora inician.
Este año nuestro lema es "Márcate grandes objetivos en la vida". Las personas que desde niños se marcan objetivos difíciles alcanzan sus metas en la vida adulta y mejoran la sociedad.
